Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Rajura

The Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) is a statutory market committee established by the State Government to regulate the trade of certain notified agricultural, horticultural, and livestock products. The Agricultural Produce Market Committee was established on July 3, 1975, in accordance with the provisions of the Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation and Development) Act, 1963. It functions as an entity constituted under Section 12 of the said Act. The primary objectives behind the establishment of the APMC are to develop modern market yards for agricultural produce; to regulate the marketing of agricultural products; to assist farmers in securing remunerative prices for their produce; to create infrastructure for the orderly development of trade; to maintain and manage market areas; and to determine the terms and conditions for the utilization of markets within the designated market area. The Committee has been constituted for the specific purposes of regulating the marketing of agricultural and certain other products, establishing market facilities, and addressing other ancillary matters. The said Committee is mandated to regulate and supervise the marketing of agricultural produce in strict compliance with the provisions of the Act, the rules framed thereunder, and the Committee's own bye-laws.
